Career Development By the Numbers: August – September 2013

The Center for Career Development is off to a strong start this year, with our counseling and employer relations work both in full swing.  Here is a recap of our activity between August 26, the first day of classes, and September 30.

120 employers have begun recruiting students for full-time jobs and internships, including Bain & Company, Deloitte Consulting, the CIA, Wells Fargo Securities, Chiquita, AT&T, City Year, the FBI, Raymond James, Teach for America, FDIC and the Charlotte Bobcats.

339 students, including 212 members of the senior class, have already begun working with career advisors on their summer or post-Davidson career plans.

278 students have participated in Center for Career Development programs designed to engage students in the development of a career plan or prepare them to manage a job, internship or graduate school search.

Over 50 students applied to be matched with alumni mentors through our new Career and Leadership Mentoring Initiative, which is a pilot program led by our office and the Chidsey Center for Leadership Development.

October will bring additional on-campus recruiting, the kick-off for our mentoring initiative, the application period for our Job Shadowing Program, information sessions for the Selective Liberal Arts Consortium Recruiting Days, and of course, much more one-on-one advising!  Remember to keep up with our blog throughout the year for more information.

I’d love to see any resumes of juniors or seniors who would be interested in investment banking
