Career Services Launches New Job Shadowing Program

The Office of Career Services is happy to announce Davidson’s new Job Shadowing Program, to be held over the 2011-12 winter break.  This program provides one-day shadowing experiences in which Davidson students shadow alumni or parent volunteers as they go about their day’s work.

Shadowing gives students the opportunity to receive a firsthand look at the workplace in a career they are considering, make valuable networking contacts, and have the opportunity to see how their Davidson education applies to real world situations.

APPLICATION MATERIALS:  Resume and brief cover letter
TIME COMMITMENT:  One full day over winter break, flexible scheduling (Dec. 13 – Jan. 15)

Students should log into WildcatLink today to read professional profiles of our job shadowing hosts and to apply for one or more experiences!  Direct any questions to Ashley Neff, Assistant Director for Internships, at or stop by Career Services during walk-in hours:  M – F, 1:30 – 3:30 pm.

Management Consulting -vs- Investment Banking

An interesting read for students considering both investment banking and management consulting paths after Davidson.  Keep in mind that this article is posted on a consulting website, but it seems fairly balanced.  Comments are welcomed from students, alumni and parents who have worked in either or both professions!
